Hundreds of people flocked to this year's SEXPO in Sydney as performers put on a show of strip shows, contortionism and art.

With hundreds of exhibitors there was bound to be something for everyone at the launch of the convention, from international performers, male and female stage acts, comedy hypnotists, fetish demonstrations and audience participation competitions.

Running for four days, the event celebrates sexuality and promises to provide plenty of fun for open-minded adults.

With a history of over 20 years, SEXPO has drawn crowds of several million Australians.

Popular stars such as Pricasso, Jenna Haze, Madison Missina, MJ Montana and Sydney's own contortionist Jade Twist were some of the big names in attendance this year.

Widely recognised Australian porn actress, and the most successful adult star in the country, Madison Missina was at the convention conducting private and group tours of the event.

Missina knew from a young age that she wanted to be a sex worker and the now 35-year-old has done everything from massage parlours to brothels, appeared in adult films and magazine spreads over her 18 years in the industry.

The openly gay adult star has been described by top porn producers as a leader and trail blazer in the industry and has been named Australia's Hottest Pornstar by People Magazine.

Missina made history in 2015 for receiving the title of Australian Porn Star of the Year for the third year consecutively and has been inducted into the Australian Adult Industry Hall of fame.

Jade Twist has been bending over backwards for over 20 years and did so at last night's launch of SEXPO.

The contortionist has been practising the skill since the age of four when she first got into acrobatics. Although her natural flexibility helps, Jade said it takes a lot of practice, training for about an hour each day.

'My muscles remember if I have taken time off,' she told The Daily Telegraph

Jade Twist has been practising acrobatics and contortionism since she was only four years old, and has now been doing it for over 20 years.

Australian performance artist Pricasso was also in attendance at the convention.

He is known for using his penis, scrotum and buttocks to paint portraits, landscapes and female nudes. Over the past eight years, he has stunned audiences by only using his genitalia as a brush, with many artists commenting on the speed and accuracy and the 'unique way' Pricasso can paint.

The convention took on a futuristic approach this year with the theme being 'Feel the Future'.

Along with all the past attractions, SEXPO showcased technology products that are set to pave the way for the next 20 years in the adult industry. There was an exclusive VR zone that allowed guests to experience the new line of adult entertainment first-hand and 'experience the sex of tomorrow'.

Other tech-based stands will flood the convention centre including the much talked about sex robot, Harmony.

Harmony is a blonde, full-lipped, busty sex doll that includes features such as knowing just what turns you on - she even seems interested in your life.

Virtual reality gaming, robotics and sex tech were all available in the FutureX area.

Hourly live stage shows took place, featuring performances from local and international performers - fetish demonstrations were also available.

The convention promised customers it isn't about sex, but celebrating all lifestyles and sexualities.

The aim of the first SEXPO was to bring adult products out of adult stores and present them to the public in comfortable and fun atmosphere, and is now one of the busiest consumer exhibitions in Australia.

'We specifically invite people who have never been to SEXPO, thinking it is just a show about sex, to come along and be pleasantly surprised by the fun, friendly and relaxed atmosphere,' they say on their website.

There's even an educational aspect with seminars running throughout the festival, covering topics from swinging to contraception.

Last night's launch went off with a bang with hundreds of Australians queuing up for the opening of the four-day event where they will experience how technology is changing the way sex is conceptualised.

The event goes until Sunday 17 June, tickets are still available on SEXPO's website
