A hugely popular virtual reality (VR) exclusive title, Raw Data is the multiplayer-centric first-person shooter (FPS) California-based Survios launched as the studios’ first monetised videogame. Mike McTyre, Design Director at Survios, recently spoke with VRFocus about the latest update to Raw Dataand what will be coming next for the studio.
McTyre says that Survios are introducing a large new content patch to the pre-release version, which will include new powers for Saija and Boss and Cataclysm, a late-game mission that is designed to give experienced players a challenge.
Raw Data will now fully supports Oculus Rift with the release of the new patch. McTyre says the aim is to make the videogame fully platform-agnostic to allow for full cross-platform communities for multiplayer.
The development team at Survios is larger than it has been before, which allows more content to be added into the game than was previously possible and may allow the team to bring it out of Steam Early Access sooner than originally anticipated. McTyre said that a fourth character is due to come out soon. The latest product from Survios is called Sprint Vector, and is an VR athletic competition set in the future.
