Raw Data: New Update On Oculus Touch In March
February 27, 2017

Starting next month Survios’ virtual reality shooter Raw Data will be playable on the Oculus Rift with Touch controllers and support cross-platform multiplayer.

That means Oculus Rift owners will be able to play with Vive owners once the March update hits. Suvios hasn’t yet set a specific release date for the update, but did detail some of what else will be included when it arrives.

Two of the three playable heroes, Saija and Boss, will receive new abilities and extensive reworks, largely in response to player feedback, according to the company.

These upgrades will prove useful when players attempt the challenging new mission. Cataclysm has players fending off enemies while traveling on a moving elevator platform within Eden Corp’s Data Chamber.

The Oculus Rift version of Raw Data will feature the same content as the game already out on Vive, but the title was optimized and reengineered to work specifically with Oculus Touch’s tracking and controls.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Oculus player community to Raw Data,” said James Iliff, Survios Chief Creative Officer and co-founder, in a prepared statement. “With VR still a young, niche industry, it’s crucial right now for the entire community to be united regardless of platform. We believe VR is ultimately going to be a platform-agnostic medium, and we’re showing our support for that shift with Raw Data’s new, cross-platform compatibility—and that’s just the beginning. We’re going to do everything we can to create content for the entire VR community.”
