Is Arkham VR Better On HTC Vive?
May 17, 2017

Arkham VR is a brilliant experience that placed players into the cape n’ cowl of The Dark Knight himself and it was short and sweet, but meticulously detailed in every way. It still stands as one of PlayStation VR’s best showcases and now the game’s timed exclusivity has ended, it can finally be enjoyed by PC players as well. I have the pleasure of owning this game on both PlayStation and PC, so I figured it would be a good idea to tell you a bit about my time with both versions.

I admire the PSVR’s accessible price tag and ease of use, but there’s an undeniable shift in quality when Arkham VR moves onto on a premium headset such as the HTC Vive. I’m not trying to say that it’s bad on PlayStation VR by any means, its arrival on PC has simply supercharged its graphics and increased the one-to-one nature of its controller tracking.

I’m already astounded by the game’s visuals on console, but fuelling it with the power of an NVIDIA 1080 graphics card has granted me a greater level of immersion. Thanks to the Vive’s laser-guided tracking boxes my hand movement was replicated with pin point accuracy in-game. Not only that, but when I picked up and examined items in the environment, I didn’t have to squint in order to read whichever message had been handwritten onto it.

Everything looked and felt a lot more realistic due to the superior virtual reality that PC has to offer. So if you’ve yet to try out Arkham VR and own a Vive, then I highly recommend you pick it up. If you own a PSVR and still haven’t had time to play it, then don’t let my praise for the HTC Vive’s power dismay you – this game is still every bit as great on the PlayStation 4 than it is on PC.
