Spaced out: Visitors can experience David Bowie's musical Lazarus through virtual reality Jan Versweyveld

Visitors to the V&A can get inside David Bowie’s musical Lazarus through the medium of virtual reality, as part of their 2017 Performance Festival.

This is the fourth edition of the festival, which celebrates all forms of live performance. It will run from April 21-30, and will also include the museum’s first ever stand-up comedy night with Nish Kumarand John Lloyd on the bill.

There will also be a premiere screening of Lady Macbeth followed by a Q&A featuring its star Florence Pugh, which will be broadcast across the country.

Stage actresses Juliet Stevenson and Maureen Lipman will also take part in a discussion event about their favourite theatre productions from the last 25 years.

The V&A is home to the UK’s national collection of theatre and performing arts, with the festival celebrating the diversity of performance. The theme will be the relationship between British and European stages, and will end with a discussion on what’s next for the arts after Brexit.

Admission to most events is free but selected events will be ticketed in advance. More information can be found on the Performance Festival website at
