Sigur Rós Debut AR Music At Magic Leap Event

Following the Tónandi Liminal live stream, new music is coming to the band’s “endless ambient streaming mixtape”


Sigur Rós are premiering new music tonight (December 6) at a “Liminal” soundbath event in Los Angeles, which will stream live on YouTube at 11:30 p.m. Eastern. Watch it below. The music being presented tonight includes ambient remixes of previously released music from Tónandi—the audiovisual augmented reality experience they developed with Magic Leap—and other Sigur Rós works-in-progress.


The event is presented by Sigur Rós’ Jónsi and Georg Holm, frequent collaborator Alex Somers, producer Paul Corley, and Sigur Rós touring member Kjartan Holm. It will subsequently be archived on the band’s website.


Following the soundbath, a new volume of Sigur Rós’ “endless ambient streaming mixtape” Liminal will become available. Watch a trailer below.
