Featuring previously unreleased music from the band
Sigur Rós have teamed up with tech start-up Magic Leap to create a new audiovisual augmented reality experience called Tónandi. The result of a half-decade of collaboration and designed for the Magic Leap One headset, the app features new music recorded by the band that can be manipulated by the user by interacting with visuals around them.
A preview of the experience last year featured jellyfish-like creatures. In a recent Instagram post, the band calls them “sound spirits,“ describing the app as “a place where spatial sounds are visible all around you and ready to respond to every interaction.” Check that out in the video clip above.
