So Björk has taken a deep dive into the digital media realm, and it seems she won’t be coming up for air anytime soon. Since dropping Vulnicura last year, she’s had digital exhibits in London and Sydney, and she incorporated digital elements into her Vulnicura Live boxset. It predates Vulnicara, too. As pointed out on the artist’s site:
“As you may have noticed, things have changed around here. we’re exploring new worlds, which some of you might have heard of, starting with biophilia, björk’s exploration of music, nature and technology.”
Now it appears we’ll finally get a glimpse of the fruits of her digital exploration here in the States with a virtual reality video for Vulnicura’s “Notget” directed by Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones. The 21-second preview clip below features an underwater cyborg-like figure, with what looks like fire in its body, singing and dancing. Check it out.
Vulnicura is out now.
