In early November, The New York Times launched its latest video initiative, The Daily 360 — a project that promises to deliver one 360 video every day for an entire year.
But 360 video, while unprecedented in its scope, isn’t the only recent storytelling innovation at The Times. It comes fast on the heels of investments both in virtual reality and in podcasts.
All of which raises an important question: How is technology shaping the newsroom of the future?
A group of Times journalists sat down last month to address exactly that issue: Jake Silverstein, editor in chief of The New York Times Magazine, led a panel discussion with Sam Dolnick, an associate editor at The Times; Marcelle Hopkins, executive producer for 360 news; and Lisa Tobin, executive producer for audio.
