OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Just days from the kickoff of EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, the U.S. Navy announced it will show off a new virtual reality experience.
Participants will wear Oculus Rift headsets and SubPac vests to be immersed in a high-speed water rescue and SEAL team extraction.
It's touted as a way to give visitors a taste of what it's like to be part of today's Navy.
The mobile display is built in a state-of-the-art vehicle called the Burke, which will be stationed at the EAA Aviation Museum for the duration of AirVenture.
Navy staff will be there to answer questions and help visitors navigate the VR experience.
AirVenture starts Monday, July 24, and runs through Sunday, July 30.
