The world's first 360° views from space were presented at the Starmus Festival in Trondheim, Wednesday as cosmonaut come-360 videographer Andrei Borisenko was interviewed by host Larry King.
"I think that no matter how many more planets we discover, the Earth will always be our home because it is the most beautiful planet", Borisenko said on camera as he watched earth from the International Space Station (ISS).
Borisenko said that "there was no way I could refuse" to the filming on top of his other duties in space "when I understood the potential" of being able to bring the views he described as "so hypnotic, that you want to go back again and again“ to a wider audience in this immersive format.
The discussion took place at the fourth Starmus Festival, which celebrates astronomy, space exploration, chemistry, physics, art and medicine, running from June 18 until June 23.
The Space 360 project is a joint initiative of RT, Russia’s space agency Roscosmos, and Energia Rocket and Space Corporation
