Ahead of the June 22 release of Distorted, Deadline tells us, Minds Eye Entertainment and Sky VR have joined forces to promote the film in a highly unique way. The Christina Ricci-starring thriller has received a virtual reality trailer today. Essentially, it’s an interactive movie trailer that you’re able to literally move 360 degrees around in.
As the site explains, the trailer also serves to promote Distorted Reality, a 10-minute VR experience tied to the film that’s going to be distributed through OneTouch VR on Google Daydream, Oculus Go and Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, and iOs. It will also be available in stereo 3D on various platforms like the Littlstar app on Sony’s Playstation VR.
The film “follows a woman suffering from bipolar disorder whom comes to suspect the proprietor of the state-of-the-art ”smart apartment” she and her husband just moved into is using the building’s residents as unwitting guinea pigs for a ”synthetic telepathy” brainwashing plot with dire global ramifications.”
Rob W. King directed the film. Brendan Fletcher and John Cusack also star.
