This is one of North Korea’s main holidays – the Day of the Sun, or Kim Il Sung’s birthday. Traditionally, thousands of young people gather in the evening at a square in the centre of Pyongyang, where they perform national dances in which they move with extraordinarily precise coordination.
Towards the end of the ceremony, anyone who wants can join the dancers. The celebrations end with a 30-minute fireworks display. Switch on your sound and watch this video in immersive 360 degree format.
