Animal theme park company Seaworld Entertainment is partnering with the Abu Dhabi government-backed Miral to develop “a next-generation marine life themed park experience.”
The park will feature 3-D mapping and virtual reality experiences to allow visitors to take virtual expeditions or deep sea dives.
SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will open by 2022, on the manmade ‘Yas Island.’
Earlier in September, SeaWorld announced an investment of $175 million to build new attractions including a virtual reality experience.
Since 2013 the company was under heavy criticism after the release of Blackfish, a documentary that skewered SeaWorld over its treatment of orcas.
