VR came under the spotlight yesterday as a whole area of the Concorde Hall was dedicated to Virtual Reality as the world's oldest air show in its push to further promote innovation in all areas of the civil and military aeronautics and aerospace industry.

At the heart of the Paris Air Show, Concorde Hall hosts the first edition of Paris Air Lab: 3000 square meters dedicated to research and innovation.
Featuring collaborative work from industrial groups, companies, and startups from aeronautics and aerospace, and conference debates on the future of the field, international startup pitches, immersive experiences and more, the Paris Air Lab showcases 22 booths dedicated to innovation, aeronautics, aerospace and digital technology as well as two conference rooms for keynote speakers and pitch sessions, five virtual reality booths, a “future vehicles” booth, and “Earth seen from above” photo exhibition.

French president Emmanuel Macron descended from the skies in a European military plane and Airbus and Boeing raced to impress with big plane orders as the Paris Air Show got underway Monday.
Macron, who wants France to become more tech-savvy and comes off a big electoral win, visited the Paris Air Lab area and stopped by VRrOOm's booth where he met with VRrOOm's CEO Louis Cacciuttolo.

VRrOOm showcased the trailer of a new, ultra high-definition 360 VR documentary series about French astronaut Thomas Pesquet's last trip to the ISS, "Being an astronaute" european coproduction by La 25e Heure, Prospect TV and DVMobile.
