VR Store Sim Company InContext Raises $15M

Chicago-based virtual reality software company, InContext Solutions has raised about $15 million, according to a report by Chicago Tribune.
Founded in 2009 the company uses virtual reality app ShopperMX to help retailers simulate real in-store shopping situations. Walmart, Nestle, Mondelez, Samsung, General Mills and Coca-Cola are amongst the well-known brands that use ShopperMX to visualize new concepts before rolling them out in the stores.
According to Crunchbase the company had raised $4,7 million on April 2016 as part of a debt financing deal. The latest investment brings InContext Solutions’ total funding to more than $42 million.
