GDC is nearly upon us and the major players are starting to show their cards. For Google, augmented and virtual reality look to be significant focal points in their revealed schedule of events.
The schedule revealed by Google shares the keynote, expo booth, and other additional details for their appearance at GDC this year. On Google Developer Day, Instant Apps PM Lead Jonathan Karment, AR/VR Developer Platforms Product Manager Nathan Martz, and Head of Games Merchandising Mark Vela will speak at the welcoming keynote, which will be followed by three sessions.
The first session’s focus is innovation and new platforms, such as the ARCore platform for Android devices and the recently launched Poly platform for 3D assets. The second tackles pre-launch best practices on Google’s platforms, even touching on building games for inclusive audiences. The third session involves strategies to improve performance post-launch, touching on community building, long-term business plans, identifying opportunities in your game’s data, and more.
GDC’s expo floor will be open March 21 thru March 23 and Google’s booth, #823 in Moscone South, will host special talks ranging from spatial audio and immersion in VR to how to use ads for your app’s success.
