Core Music Agency Launches VR Division
July 2, 2018

Vancouver-based Core Music Agency is expanding its representation of film, TV and video game composers, music editors and music producers by opening a U.S. office in Los Angeles, as well as launching a games and virtual reality division.

Trish Klein, a former member of The Be Good Tanyas, will oversee the games and VR division from Vancouver. Klein, who has had her music featured in “Breaking Bad,” ‘The L Word,” and “Weeds,” has run her own label, Hidden City Records, since 2014, while also working in music management, supervision and marketing.

Kevin Estwick, who will helm the L.A. office, brings client Arturo Solar (Beautiful Faces, Velvet Karma) with him. He was previously managing Core client Steve London, who co-scored the 2016 Chet Baker biopic Born to be Blue with Core client Todor Kobakov, and the upcoming film, Stockholm, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

“Between the new U.S. division and the addition of Trish Klein), we look forward to increasing our reach and visibility for our clients in North America and worldwide,” Estwick said. “These additions come on the heels of a year that has seen nothing but growth for the agency with the signing of eight additional composers and an ever-expanding list of amazing projects.”

Founded in 2007 by former film composer Ari Wise, Core represents more than 40 composers, including Ben Mink, best known for his work with k.d. lang, and legendary trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, as well as Mark Korven (The Witch), Todor Kobakov (CBS’s Ransom, Syfy’s Bitten and upcoming film, Backstabbing for Beginners).
