360-degree, digital experience to offer visitors 'total immersion in all things' Van Gogh.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience later this year will make its North American Debut with an opening in Atlanta, according to an announcement Tuesday. While the exhibition’s exact location won’t be announced for a few more weeks, the 360-degree, “immersive digital art experience,” brought to life by European entertainment producer Exhibition Hub, and presented by Atlanta-based Immersive Hub, will open May 19, 2021.
“As an Atlanta resident, who has spent decades creating immersive experiences around the world, I am excited to be a part of bringing Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience to our city,” John Zaller, President of Immersive Hub, said. “As a national leader in art, culture, film, and music, Atlanta is the perfect place to premiere this cutting-edge art and entertainment experience.”
In association with Immersive Hub, Exhibition Hub has teamed with leading entertainment discovery platform, Fever, best known for its immersive experiences such as Candlelight, The Mad Hatter Gin (& Tea) Party and most recently, the Los Angeles based Stranger Things: The Drive-Into Experience.
“We believe there is a pent-up demand for immersive entertainment in a COVID-safe environment,” Mario Iacampo, CEO of Exhibition Hub, said in a prepared statement. “As the world slowly returns to normal, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience allows people to once again gather and enjoy art and entertainment in a safe, socially distanced manner.”
The two-story, 20,000 square-foot experience — in addition to its 360-degree digital projections — combines virtual reality and “atmospheric” light and sound in a family-friendly, COVID-safe made-for-all-ages environment. Atlantans interested in visiting the attraction can join the “waiting list” for tickets which will go on sale on Feb. 17. Ticket prices will range from $20.70 for children and $32.30 for adults.
“Visitors to Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will be required to wear face masks at all times and must adhere to strict anti-COVID transmission protocols as outlined by the CDC,” according to the announcement. Hand sanitizer stations will be available to visitors on-site.
Since launching in 2015, Exhibition Hub has produced more than 70 exhibitions and immersive experiences around the world, reaching more than six million visitors. The company curates, produces and distributes a large number of exhibitions across the globe, from South America to China, delivering experiences to wide audiences and adapting its productions to numerous types of unique venues: from museums to exhibition centers, galleries to shopping malls, and cathedrals, and historical sites.
The recently formed Immersive Hub, which is headquartered in Atlanta, has partnered with Exhibition Hub to tour Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience and other shows across North America.
