Virtuleap has been one of the companies at the forefront of looking to utilize virtual reality for the purposes of improving your brain functionality. After partnering with 4th-IR late in 2020 in the pursuit of using VR to help recognize cognitive decline earlier, Virtuleap has now released a handful of new games to help make sure your brain works that much better.
In total, Virtuleap has released two new games this week in its Enhance VR app called Maestro and Harmonize. These new experiences brings the total number of titles accessible in Virtuleap’s library to 11. And when it comes to Maestro and Harmonize, they might be two of the more unique games in the catalog.
Maestro sees you playing the role of a, well, maestro as you conduct a choir full of cute little rodents. The experience is meant to be one that helps with your memory and processing of information. The game itself is relatively easy to play, but being able to mirror the moves that you’re being shown will potentially take some work.
Harmonize also looks to help with your memory and processing skills and is pretty accessible as well. This game places you in front of a variety of individualized xylophone keys. A screen in front of the keys will then show you two numbers that you then have to add together in your head and hit the xylophone key that is the sum of those two numbers as quickly as possible. It might seem basic, but it helps give your brain the workout it might need.
In terms of other findings that Virtuleap has stumbled upon lately, the company has also found a correlation with sleeping patterns and cognitive function. Detailed on the company’s website, it is said that those who play Enhance VR are asked at the start of each session how many hours of sleep that they got the night before. Those that slept between 7-8 hours per night were found to do better in the memory exercises. Meanwhile, those who slept less than 7 hours per night had similar stats, although their spatial orientation was much lower. All of this information goes to tell us that your sleep is important to your health and you should absolutely try to get 8 hours per night if you can.
All in all, Enhance VR from Virtuleap continues to be one of the better products on the market if you’re looking to give your brain a decent workout every now and then. While the games that it offers are by no means difficult, they help make sure that you’re brain is working properly and could lead to the improvement of your cognitive state well into the future.
Both Harmonize and Maestro can be experienced through Virtuleap’s Enhance VR application, which is available now on Steam. The game is en
