There’s been the Fabric of Reality fashion show in July and next month will see the Circular Fashion Summit held in virtual reality (VR). Continuing the trend, fashion label Cyberdog and Italian sports brand Kappa will be holding a catwalk event inside Sansar as part of London Fashion Week beginning this Sunday.
The Rave Team Collection will see a real-life and digital VR launch where models based at Cyberdog’s flagship store in North Carolina, US and from Australia’s Gold Coast will appear in a store replica inside Sansar.
Attendees will be able to see the limited edition Rave Team Collection which comprises of 33 pieces of retro-vibe apparel. Described by Cyberdog co-founder Tony Davy as: “A cyber-clash of rave culture and street fashion” the collection will be available to all show visitors in Sansar, who can then go onto buy the real products if they so wish inside the virtual venue.
“International iconic brands Cyberdog and Kappa prove they continue to pioneer rave culture and street apparel with this virtual launch. We are so happy that Sansar can provide connectivity, exposure, and revenue streams at a time when the fashion events industry is at a standstill,” says Sheri Bryant, President of Sansar in a statement. “With the Rave Team Collection virtual launch at London Fashion Week, we’re delivering the world’s first virtual live global VR fashion show of the future, deeply immersive and accessible to anyone and anywhere with a PC or phone at their disposal. The industry is at the vanguard of something truly incredible.”
The Sansar app is available for free supporting VR and non-VR gameplay. To participate in the fashion show you’ll need to signup and get a free ticket. It’ll take place on Sunday 20th September 2020 from 7:30pm – 10pm BST. It will also be live-streamed via social media channels.
London Fashion Week isn’t the only city event utilising VR, as London Film Festival recently announced LFF Expanded. Much like Venice VR Expanded, the London Film Festival version will feature a virtual exhibition space, The Expanse, where those at home can view the immersive works.
