XtraSexyReality Porn Game Banned From Steam Store
December 29, 2019

A new porn game app, featuring real women in sexy situations, has been banned from the Steam adult content store. The app, called XtraSexyReality, is a "choose your own adventure" style game that works with either virtual reality headsets or gaming computers. Similar to Black Mirror's Bandersnatch, users can make choices in the game, but unlike Bandersnatch, choices are made with a "horny meter" and players can teleport to different camera locations in the scene for a better look at the action.

Tamar, a sex worker, psychology Ph.D. student and activist from Amsterdam teamed up with one of her partners, a VR developer from San Francisco nicknamed Ninja, to create an interactive VR game that would promote authentic sexuality.

“We are both exhibitionists and we wanted to let people feel that they were actually playing with us and communicating what they want," Tamar explained. "One of our main goals was to show players how we communicate around boundaries and make sure to stay safe even in kinky situations like breath play or fisting.”

“We live in a sad world where shooting and sexual violence is promoted by the gaming industry but authentic, playful and consensual sexuality is deemed inappropriate for adults," lamented Ninja.

Many of the games on Steam have adult-only content, with descriptions that include "Vaginal Sex, Anal Sex, Intercrural Sex, Mentions of Rape, Dubious Consent, Alcohol Usage, Drug Usage/Abuse" and other similar descriptors. However, all of those games seem to feature 3D or animated characters, while XtraSexyReality features two real women. Indeed, Steam's response to XtraSexyReality's inquiries was, "We're not in the business of selling games that are primarily explicit sexual content that contain depictions of real people. Sorry, we won't be able to ship your title."

But the duo did not let the ban stop them, and they've created their own web store XtraSexyReality.com.

“Our game pushes the limits of what VR and interactivity can do with adult content, and if Steam wants to ban us, it’s their loss. I knew building our own site would be hard because there is so much bias against the adult content industry and I’m very grateful for Peter Acworth, the founder of Kink.com, and Ela Darling, the co-founder of VRTube.xxx, for all the support and advice,” said Ninja.
